Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Crosses Rs 100 Crore

The makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are on cloud nine. Reason? The film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. On the 8th day of its release (Friday), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha pocketed Rs 4 crore, way over Bareilly Ki Barfi, which released on August 18 and made Rs 2.42 crore on its first day.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the roaring success of the film and wrote, “#ToiletEkPremKatha crosses ₹ 100 cr on Day 8... [Week 2] Fri 4 cr. Total: ₹ 100.05 cr. India biz. #TEPK (sic).”

He also added, “#ToiletEkPremKatha is Akshay Kumar's 8th ₹ 100 cr grosser... The 2nd highest, after Salman Khan [11 ₹ 100 cr grossers]. India biz. #TEPK

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha becomes Akshay Kumar's fastest film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. The superstar’s Rustom took 9 days.

Jolly LLB 2 – Rs. 117 crore

However, in the process of showering praise, did he take a dig at Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's recent failures at ticket windows by comparing their film’s run at the box-office to ‘constipation’? As you know, the last two big films released in the last quarter are Salman’s Tubelight and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. Both bombed at the box-office.

Coming back to Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s box-office performance, trust Akshay Kumar to end the rough phase.
